Do you know where you want to be in 5 years, 10 years or even 20 years? Most likely you do have dreams for the future. You may envision yourself behind a microscope discovering breakthrough treatments for cancer, or explaining Shakespeare to a classroom full of eager students, or even walking down the red carpet at your own movie premier. Maybe you have no idea what your future holds, and that is okay, too. Wherever you might want to go in life, there are tools you can use to help you get there faster. Here are some tips for figuring out who you are, and how to take a few test-drives while you map out your future.
So, how would you describe yourself? If you spend some time thinking about this question you may get a little closer to figuring out where you are headed in life. In your free time, take a few minutes to jot down every word you can think of that describes you. Are you independent, organized and light-hearted? Or are you creative, sensitive and analytical? Try to come up with the longest list you possibly can. You can even ask people close to you, like your parents, siblings or friends, how they would describe you; they might point out an attribute you were not aware of. Once you know your strengths, it will be easier to start thinking about your future.
